Vytautas Magnus University (VDU) is one of the oldest and most leading universities in Lithuania.
The name of Vytautas Magnus was given in 1930.
The university has 17 campuses in different parts of Kaunas, and also has branches in Vilnius and Washington (Columbia region). They are also planning to open a branch in Ukraine.
There are currently around 1000 students studying in the university.
Scientific and international activity is very developed in VDU, as they are cooperating with more than 360 universities worldwide.
VDU is the only university in Lithuania, which participates in Campus Europe programme, which unites 17 European universities.
Each year around 250 students and 150 members of staff participate in LLP/Erasmus exchange programme, and as a result the university accepts around 300 international students.
According to the QS world university ranking (2013/2014), VDU is one of the best in 800 universities in the world.
